- I'm 46 yrs. old, divorced, live with my boyfriend of almost 4 yrs now, and have been out of work going on two yrs. now. I lost my job of 20 yrs. with GMAC in July 2009, and have been looking for a job ever since. This has been a very humbling experience for me in so many ways, and so very very frustrating. I never thought this could happen to me, what with all my years of experience in the financial services industry, plus my B.S. in Business Management which I earned from Western International University in 2001. I truly believe my age is counting against me because companies want to hire young people fresh out of college.
